Before one can interpret and understand the Qur’an and the Hadith, he must know the denotations and connotations intended by the words of Allaah and His Messenger (sallaaAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). How can their words be understood? Knowledge of the Arabic language in which we were addressed will help us to understand what Allaah and His Messenger (sallaaAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) intended through their words, as will understanding the semantics behind the words and phrases. Truly, most of the misguidances of the Innovators occured due to this reason – they began to misinterpret the words of Allaah and His Messenger (sallaaAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) claiming that they meant one thing, when really they meant another.

When our hearts are hardened, no sign sent to us by the Almighty will make us take heed, mend our ways or incline towards Him.
The Almighty sends regular signs of varying magnitudes to each one of us, as gentle reminders to soften our hearts towards His obedience.
If nothing at all serves as a warning to us, then we need urgent help to remedy our spiritual paralysis before it is too late.
“Has the time not come for the believers to humble their hearts to the reminder of the Almighty and the Divine Revelation..?”57:16
May the Almighty protect our hearts from becoming hardened, and may He instead soften them to incline towards His obedience at all times. Aameen

al-Musaafirah: Awakening the Last Ten Nights of Ramadan
Question: If I want to awaken the last ten nights of Ramadan when should I begin?
Sheikh ‘Abdul ‘Azeez bin Baaz, may Allaah have mercy upon him, answers:
“You should begin after the ‘Ishaa prayer. The Messenger of Allaah, may Allaah exalt his rank and grant him safety, used to awaken the last ten nights of Ramadan, ‘Aaisha, may Allaah be pleased with her, said:
“When the last ten nights of Ramadan would begin, the Messenger of Allaah, may Allaah exalt his rank and grant him safety, would stay awake at night for prayer and devotion, awaken his family and prepare himself to be more diligent in worship.”
This is what is best if one is capable of doing so. However if one sleeps some of the night to strengthen himself then that is fine. As for one who Allaah granted him the power and ability to remain awake during them, then this is the sunnahand something that draws near to Allaah. (Awakening the nights) is by prayer, recitation of the Qur’aan, supplication, seeking forgiveness, etc.”
[The reader of the question says] “Can you kindly mention the dates so that perhaps she can intend to do them?
The Sheikh answers: “The sunnah is awakening all of the last ten nights, this is the sunnah. But if a person was to awaken the odd nights from them like the twenty-first, twenty-third, twenty-fifth, twenty-seventh and twenty-ninth then this is fine. However the best thing is to awaken all of them but the odd nights are more desrving of this because Laylat-ul-Qadr (the Night of Decree) is sought in them. The Messenger of Allaah, may Allaah exalt his rank and grant him safety, said:
“Seek it out in every odd night,” and in some narrations he said:
“seek it out in the last ten nights.”
However the odd nights are more hoped for attaining it, the twenty-first, twenty-third, twenty-fifth, twenty-seventh and twenty-ninth and the most strongest out of them is the twenty-seventh night since the last ten nights begin on the twenty-first night.”

There is not a single believer who has two parents and wakes up while he is good to them except that Allah opens up for him two gates to Paradise, and if he makes one of them angry, Allah will not be Pleased with him until that parent becomes pleased with him again.” It was asked: “Even if that parent was oppressive and in the wrong?” It was replied: “Yes, even so. And he never wakes up while he is bad to them except that Allah opens up for him two gates to Hell.

Maafkan aku..(via jihad-an-nafs)
